Freshman Wins Science Award

Lauren Johnson '13 won a Special Award from the Monterey Regional Water Pollution Control Agency for her eighth grade Science Fair project entitled "Holding Back the Tide - Sassy Strawberry Salinity." Lauren's presentation showed the effects of seawater intrusion on agricultural crops, particularly strawberries, which are a high value crop in Monterey County. The MRWPCA awards support science development and projects that highlight seawater intrusion and pollution prevention. Congratulations, Lauren!
